About Maureen

Maureen Cahalan hails from the east Galway village of Killimor. She is an advocate of lifelong learning which was instilled from a very young age from her mother who introduced Maureen through effective role modeling, to the art of teamwork, importance of honesty and the practical need for traditional values in a changing world.
Maureen inherited her mothers sense of tact and diplomacy and her fathers industrious and charitable outlook to life which has been a key facet of her success both personally and professionally.
Maureen is Ireland’s retail bellwether entrepreneur. Maureen has strength and confidence which has seen her thrive in the challenging 1980s right up to the present day. Appointed as first ever lady president for the RJI in 1985 Maureen has successfully demonstrated that change is easy through endurance, focus and inspiration. She is a much sought after speaker on leadership in the USA, Scotland, UK and Ireland.
Maureen is admired for her infectious and upfront management style in forging key links and meaningful relationships with staff, peers, customers and suppliers.
